Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig Sept. 21 1982) is a famous American actor. She is most famously known for her role played Shannon Rutherford from ABC's Lost TV show and Kim Mills for the Taken Trilogy. Born in Worthington Ohio, she left high school in order to relocate to Los Angeles with her mother when her parents separated. She landed her debut role as Rachel's Room's lead character in 2001, despite having a difficult time in the financial department. Her performance as Martha Moxley, a 15-year-old victim of murder in the TV movie Murder In Greenwich in 2002, earned her nominations for a Young Artist Award. Grace Rutherford played Shannon Rutherford for Lost's first two seasons in 2004, as well as sharing a Screen Actors Guild Award (with all the other actors) alongside her. She is a member of the Gyllenhaal clan and the younger sister of Jake Gyllenhaal. Her acting career started as a young teenager with small parts in a few films directed from her father. Gyllenhaal was praised by critics for both her performances as a lead character of Secretary (2002) which is which is an erotic romantic drama and Sherrybaby (2006). The actress was also nominated by her fellow actors for the Golden Globe Award. Following a string of commercially successful movies in 2006, including World Trade Center she received wider recognition for playing Rachel Dawes in the superhero film The Dark Knight (2008). Her performance in Crazy Heart as a mother with a single child received her a nomination for the Academy Award Best Supporting Actress. She then appeared in dramas and comedies such as Nanny McPhee's Big Bang (2010) Hysteria 2011, and Won't Back Down 2012 In addition, she played an Secret Service Agent in White House Down which was an action-packed thriller released in 2013, as well as a singer in Frank (2014) as well as her role as the main character on The Kindergarten Teacher, a drama released in 2018. Gyllenhaal was the writer and director of her first film, The Lost Daughter in 2021. The thriller that dealt with psychological issues was awarded the Best Screenplay Award from the Venice International Film Festival.
